Craftaholics Anonymous: a Headboard Makeover AND a chance to WIN a Silhoue...

Ok, so this is going to be my first ever REAL blog post. Ya know, where I actually type up my own words/thoughts. Not just link something from another page.. lol. Hope you enjoy!

Mid last year my mother bought about 2,000 (seriously!) zippers from a woman in Central Florida. Ever since I have been trying to think of what we could do with so many zippers, other than re-sale. A week before giftmas I found/saw a zipper flower & thought to myself.. SELF, this is what we need to do with all of them darn zippers!!!! I have been uber busy w so many other things since giftmas that I forgot all about the zippers until tonight when my mother stopped by. While she was here, I pulled up a photo to show her & entertain flower creations w the M-A-N-Y zippers she has.

While surfing images I came upon my absolute newest favorite blog (yes, I say that bout ever new uber-cool blog I find, but this one is great, really!) I wish I were more BLOG savy & knew how to link a photo of her zipper flower bracelet! I am going to make an attempt, not sure it will work... here goes... Black Zipper Bracelet by Craftaholics Anonymous Alright, well see!

While at this amazing blog, I found an entry titled Craftaholics Anonymous: a Headboard Makeover AND a chance to WIN a Silhoue...: HUH Whaaat? WIN a Silhouette DS?!?!? I have been thinking, A LOT, the past few weeks about getting a Cricuit Expression or a Silhouette. I am up in the air & honestly, confused as to which one to get!! There is 3 different Cricuit options + much more smaller ones by the same company... BUT... you have to purchase each cartridge separately. This all confuses me, which is best & why. So I spent about 3 hours today watching videos, reading reviews & comparing prices on Ebay-Walmart-Joann etc. I finally gave up when I realized I was still feeling the same as when I started, CONFUSED!
I remembered a few months ago, when I did my first ever 'etching' project, that I came upon the silhouette website. I found this machine/tool to be very intriguing. What I liked the most about it is that you do NOT have to have different cartridges for different crafts. You do not have to worry about loosing this piece or that piece. Simply download what image(s) you want from their website... so easy. However, ahem, the price kinda set me off. Both of the above mentioned machines carry a hefty price, but I know that I can make my money back with in a few months ... even if it is only through smiles & happy faces of the recipients of my arts.

I find it to be rather ironic that I spent so many hours today searching the Cricut machine (only to be disappointed in the time I put in & still feeling unworthy of my research) and then find this amazing GIVEAWAY for the Silhouette!!! Given the fact I do NOT believe in luck (at all) I prefer to think this is PURE FATE!
